My name is Michael Gartman and I am an aspiring, work-in progress sportswriter that loves anything football-related.
Formerly known as Sportscaster007, My Dad's Son was a change for branding and marketing purposes.
I have been honored to have been featured on and linked to USAToday.com, CBSSports.com, Chron.com, among others.
I'm 17 years old and I live currently live in Tuscaloosa, AL, with plans of moving to Houston in the short future.
I have a God-given writing talent and I'm not going to let it go to waste.
I have always loved writing about sports and Bleacher Report and Player Press have given me the chance to live out my life-long dream of becoming a sportswriter. Later on, I would like to get into broadcasting.
I won the Pick of the Day just after my 50th article on February 12-13, 2010, on B/R and I may be the youngest to ever do it. I am thankful to everyone who voted: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/344010-the-10-greatest-moments-in-football-from-the-new-year
I am currently honing in on my craft and hope to get a gig as soon as I can, actually bringing in an income for my efforts.
I am a very passionate writer and fan in general and for my teams, and while I do give them more credit than others, I tend to be less biased than the average fan. That might explain why I'm able to dish out the most unbiased power rankings around during the course of the season in college football.
I hope to be an inspiration to many—to do what you want to do and let nothing stop you from accomplishing your goals.
"It's amazing how far a little bit of passion and creativity can take you."—Phillip Chbeeb
I would love any advice on how to grow as a writer and become the best I can be.
If you would like any advice, I would be more than happy to help another writer in the journey to reaching their potential.
I love God, and keep family and friends close. Just before I debuted my 50th article on B/R I decided to devote a verse of my choosing (unless one is requested) to each new article. It's something small, and I would be thrilled to see it start a trend.
Feel free to comment on my articles, post a link on my bulletin board, or send me a message. If you need to contact me for a gig or an assignment, you can send me a message via B/R, find me on Facebook, YouTube, or follow me on Twitter. http://twitter.com/Sportscaster007
Carpe Diem!
