I am a 25 year old sports nut. I have a tremendous sense of hometown pride and I love my Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles and University of Maryland Basketball. I follow every sport but my favorites are the NFL, MLB,College Hoops and College Football. My favorite athletes are Ray Lewis, Cal Ripken, Juan Dixon, Joe Flacco, Adam Jones(the Orioles center fielder not that nut Pacman)and Brian Roberts. I have never wavered in my love of my teams despite the bad times they have had. Although I am a fan of certain teams and not fans other teams, I can be objective in my writing and that is something I take pride in because I believe a lot of people can't do this. All I have ever wanted to do in my life was storm the court or rush the field and after a huge win from one of my teams and I have never had that opportunity, and to see the Orioles win a World Series in my lifetime as I was only 2 months old when they last won it in 1983. My greatest sports moments were when Jermaine Lewis ran back the kickoff in Super Bowl 35 right after the Giants had scored, when Ray Lewis ripped the ball out of the hands of Eddie George and ran it in for a touchdown to seal the win in the 2001 Divisional Playoffs, when Maryland got over the hump and one its first and only National Title in college hoops and just watching this city and the whole nation embrace Cal Ripken on his way to breaking the consecutive games played record. I went to game 2,127 and I will never for get it. Sometimes I believe I know too much when it comes to sports. For instance, I can name over 80 percent of the Division 1 College mascots and I can probably tell you where the majority of the NFL and NBA player went to college. I often display this skill when I am out in public. Writing about sports has always been a dream of mine and I thank God everyday that I have this opportunity.
