As you can see I'm a big Dallas sports fan and have been since I was a youngster.  I loved the Mavericks during the Dick Motta days just as much as the "Nellie Ball" era and continue to support them during their current "We'll sign any overrated free agent" era.  My parents used to make fun of me when I was younger because I was an obnoxious Cowboys fan when they were TERRIBLE.  My favorite player was Danny White and I always wanted to meet Roger Ruzek.  I bleed silver and blue and would venture to say that my favorite shape is a star.  Enough said.

I attended Texas Tech University from 1999-2001 and witnessed a really tough transition for the people of Lubbock.  During my freshman year the football team was coached by Spike Dykes and it was at the end of an era.  Coach Dykes was there for 12 years that included seven straight 2nd place seasons in the SWC and Big 12 combined.  Clearly, it was time for a change.  The AD had chosen the unlikliest of candidates to replace Coach Dykes, Mike Leach.  Leach had just come off a superb season as Oklahoma University's Offensive Coordinator/ Guru.  The difference was night and day.  Leach's style and swagger proved abrasive in the beginning, but the rest is history.

My love for Dallas sports shouldn't diminish my credibility as a sports writer and it certainly won't cloud my judgement when writing objective articles.  There are many views and stances I have in regards to sports that many would consider to be ultra-conservative or non-conforming, but many of these theories and beliefs have yet to be proven wrong.
