Why the Colts HAVE to Draft Andrew Luck (If they get the first pick.)

This blog is all speculation that the Colts are the worst team in the NFL and will have the first pick in the draft.  The Miami Dolphins aren’t far behind but they’ll win before the Colts do.  So going on that premise there are many reasons why the Colts need to draft Andrew Luck.  The main reason being – he’s a hell of a football player and the best prospect since John Elway in 1983.  Anytime no matter what franchise you are you have the chance to draft the best player in the draft you take him. Any so called expert who doesn’t think Andrew Luck isn’t the best player in the 2012 draft has their head so far up their ass its coming out of their mouth and should be fired for sheer stupidity with no football IQ.

Next reason the Colts have to draft Andrew Luck is even if you don’t want to keep him, you can get minimum of three #1 picks for him. And judging by how bad the Colts suck in 2011 – they could use a lot of draft picks and good players.  Let’s not forget the Falcons gave up two #1’s and then some for Julio Jones.  So just imagine what Luck would bring. He’s the best bargaining chip in America right now.

Another reason the Colts need to draft him is you hedge your bet in case Peyton Manning and his neck are a career ending injury – the jury is still out. Although, knowing Peyton his career is far from over!

Another reason – if Peyton Manning is done you’ve got a superstar and a franchise QB stepping right in and it immediately makes you a playoff team again.

Let’s not forget how quickly Manning made the Colts a yearly Superbowl contender and Luck brings that same ability. And you don’t have to draft another QB for a dozen years. But…if you’re the Colts make sure you find a good back-up QB because obviously they were ill prepared with Manning’s back up!  Don’t make the same mistake with Luck.

The biggest reason and best scenario to draft Andrew Luck is to have Peyton Manning healthy and your starting QB for about another 4 years while Luck learns and watches and studies from the most cerebral QB the NFL has ever seen.

If Luck was praying for any situation – that’s the one you pray for.

Then, if you are the Colts…you hire Peyton Manning the second his career is over to be your head coach and that give you the best teacher/pupil combination a QB could ever ask for.

And for those of you who wonder if drafting Luck would bother Peyton Manning I find that doubtful but if it did – sorry the NFL isn’t the “feel good business”, it’s the business of winning!

But I think, just a hunch, Peyton is quite secure and feels pretty good about his standing as a starting QB for the Indianapolis Colts. As good as Luck is, he’s not Peyton Manning – at least not yet.  But attaching himself to Manning’s hip will assure more Superbowls for the Indianapolis Colts.

So basically the Colts are going to make chicken salad out of chicken shit.

The last things other NFL teams want is having to defend for the next dozen years is a Peyton Manning taught Andrew Luck!
