Where Does The Time Go?

Where has the NASCAR season gone? It seems like it was just a couple of weeks ago I was unemployed, and I had absolutely nothing better to do than to watch every second of coverage from Daytona Speedweek. It was so awesome! The season began, I was doing some writing for this site and everything was going swimmingly (minus the lack of full-time employment).
As the weeks passed, a new NASCAR website popped up (which shall remain nameless, as I am not looking for any kind of trouble), started by some great gentlemen in Arkansas. This site brought together a random group of NASCAR fans to discuss, mainly, nothing that had to do with NASCAR. But, as soon as the site drew all of us together for the message board and race day chat, it was stripped from the interwebs. Stupid legal jerks.
Head held high, one gentleman (I am using this term very loosely) decided that the man could not keep all of us down, and the race day chat was moved over to G-Snap. We all followed like lemmings to a cliff, and have remained there for the entire season. Some weeks, NASCAR is discussed while other weeks see all of us hating on random subjects while a boring race commences on our televisions. Unfortunately, I have been mostly absent from the chat for much of August, and it will not be any better through Labor Day weekend.
I really am wondering if I will ever make it into my favorite NASCAR chat room for a race day ever again. Seriously, I have skipped out on them for a few weeks. First, there was Lollapalooza weekend, which took precedent over that Sunday’s race. The following weekend, I wound up grilling and entertaining company who had come over to the apartment, and could not participate with the chat. Last weekend, we had house guests all weekend (thanks kids, it was a blast), so I had to tape Saturday night’s Bristol race.
Maybe I can get back to it this weekend. Wait…that will not be happening as there is no race this weekend. Now, looking into the near future, I am out for the Labor Day Weekend race in Atlanta as well, as we are headed to the middle of nowhere in upstate New York (beyond Watkins Glen, even). So, maybe after Labor Day and once the Chase is gearing up, I can get back to real-time racing and back to the chat room. Saturday, September 12th we get a night race at Richmond, which is the last regular season race before the Chase starts. I am already planning for this one. Saturday night chats can certainly get loose after awhile.
By the way, if any of you are wondering just what in the name of God I am talking about (what with chat rooms on race day and whathaveyous), then please go talk to Cooter, Lee or Doug for more information. One of those dopes should be able to help you find some race day chat. Otherwise, maybe we will see some of yall in the room for Richmond in three weeks! Come in and check out what is left of this season as it comes to a close.
