True Volunteers
Written by Chriso, Saturday January 02 2010
I recently started a job for the Red Cross. During a training video, they mentioned how we need more volunteers in this country. I had not realized how much of a problem it is until now.
In Tennessee, the athletic teams are called the Volunteers. This may not be accurate. A true definition of a volunteer is when someone give their time and effort by their own free will. When it's court ordered, that's not a volunteer, that's called community service.
Welcome to your University of Tennessee Players who perform Community Service.
We start with the basketball team, where four members were arrested after they were pulled over in a car with marijuana, an open container of alcohol, and guns. Seems like a great combination. Not sure where to begin with this one. The drinking and driving? Or where it is raised exponentially by adding the marijuana and the guns. Or maybe, the hoops team was just trying to keep up with the football team. Last fall, three members were charged with armed robbery. The best part of that story was that they were wearing team gear at the time. SWAG. Free stuff the team gave them. Didn't even think to shoplift some new clothes before pulling off the second crime.
There's no truth to the rumor that FOX plans to shoot an upcoming version of Cops there.
