Tiger’s Apology: A Woman’s Point of View

I know that you are going to read a lot of statements from mainly men saying they believe Tiger Woods and how he is now made amends with his statement; I’m not sure I buy it yet.

I saw Tiger’s apology and at this point, I wasn’t feeling it. I’m not saying the man wasn’t sincere in what he was saying, but he didn’t come off as sincere.

To me personally, he came off as stiff and at times defiant. I wanted to see no prepared statement, I wanted to see Tiger come from the heart and I wanted to see some tears. He came off as scripted and prepared like he was testifying.

You know why a lot of people bought what Kobe Bryant was saying years ago, it’s because he came out there with his wife, unprepared, and cried like a baby. When Kobe did that even though he was VERY wrong, I believed he was sincere.

Tiger should have come out right away and did this, not wait three months and let double digit mistresses come out before making a public statement.

Not likely. Look I appreciate Tiger trying to make amends for messing up and admitting it, but it might be a day late and a dollar short for a lot of people.

The true test of whether Tiger will change is not going to be through some prepared statement, it will be by his actions; and trust me the world will be watching whether he wants them to or not.

I understand the need to protect his wife and kids, but quite frankly he brought this ON them. You think TMZ is going to stop following his family because he said something?

As a woman, I was glad to see that Elin Woods did not get up there and pretend things are ok with her and her husband. She didn’t stand by her man as some may think she should have; she stood her ground by staying away.

A prepared statement probably does make any apology effort seem sincere but this is what all celebrities do when something like this happens. It is done as a way to control what topics are discussed as well as what topics will not be talked about. I still say in my opinion, the only apology he owed was to his family because they are the ones who were affected the most by his actions. The public apology while maybe good in helping to rebuild his sports image (over a period of time), was not really needed.

I agree 100% Bamababe2k9. Woods read his statement word for word making his apology seem stiff and insincere. He waited far to long making it seem like he was backed into a corner, and that is why he spoke publicly.

Oh and you never did answered when do you have time to watch the View? While you are doing your nails and discussing today's issues with your guy friends on the phone? LOL That is SO metrosexual of you.

Stacey (Bama), you shouldn't go around telling anybody they need a book on ANYTHING for Dummies. I'll leave it at that. Come on TNM, we all know that 99.9% of sports fans are men. It's just a fact. All sports commercials are geared directly towards men and sideline reporters like Erin Andrews wouldn't have her job if she didn't have a hot body. And this whole Tiger Woods thing wouldn't be as big if it weren't for the dozens of skanky Hos that he banged like a screen door in a hurricane. See Stacy, that was well thought out, well-written and damn funny.

Really what is this site coming too, first the View, and then a pink hockey rink...geeez. JK! And Dub when did this site become only a site for men. Women like sports too ya know and have a right to express their VIEW!

I'm curious Dub when do you find the time to watch the View and if you do, does that make you a man-hating Liberal as well? If that was an attempted at humor, maybe I should not only mail you bottle for your usual whinning but Joke Book for Dummies.

Hey Stacey, maybe you should realize that men like sports and HOT women, not the man-hating Liberal BITCHES on the view. But I wouldn't expect you to understand that I was KIDDING anyway.

The interesting part of all of this some of the women of the "View" actually support Tiger, so maybe you need to do your homework first before calling them "digusting cows." I think the men on here should be insulted by your comments cause quite frankly you are saying they are too small minded to get pass the fact that the women of the View are on the front page of web site. Thank God they aren't like you.

I just can't believe Nolan put up that picture of those disgusting COWS from the View on the website. Now every man that sees that will NEVER visit our site again.

I think that's a problem a lot of us had with this. He didn't do this because he wanted to, he did cause he had to, to save his reputation.

I didn't bother to watch a scripted press conference in front of selected media. It was a sterile production under so much control, it's hard to accept it as 100 percent genuine. If you're going to come out and finally speak about what happened, but better face the fire and answer questions you aren't prepared for. I give him enough credit for putting the blame on himself, but I can't fully believe in a made-for-tv statement like that.

I couldn't agree more Stacy. Tiger at times looked like a cardboard cutout. While he did show contrition, he was quite long winded. Also, I still see the control freak by he and his people needing to run the show.
