The Streak Ended Yesterday

No, I'm not talking about the Green Bay Packers losing to KC, ending their winning streak. Even though the sound of the champagne popping from Mercury Morris and the 1972 Dolphins could be heard all over the land. And I'm not talking about the Colts ending their losing streak. And I'm not sure if the 2008 Lions also celebrated with a toast.
The streak that ended yesterday was the Virginia Beach Bums. I joined Playerpress in May, 2009, but did not play fantasy football that year. The Virginia Beach Bums did join the fantasy baseball at Playerpress in 2010, and won the championship. They followed that with a championship in the football league.
2011 was a tough year for the Bums. The baseball league folded. The football team lost RB Jahvid Best to IR mid-season. Top pick Adrian Peterson missed significant time (and you might say he missed yesterday's playoff with only 6 points). Greg Jennings missed yesterday's game. Even using the Titans defense didn't work yesterday (only 6 points, facing the Colts, who were winless before the game).
So the streak is over, there will be no repeat, or three-peat if you include the baseball crown. The Virginia Beach Bums are headed to the consolation game. Time to come up with a new fantasy for me. Have I told you about the one where......
