The Last Unbeaten

Kentucky was the last unbeaten team in Division 1 NCAA basketball.
They went to South Carolina and left with their first loss of the season. The Gamecocks won 68-62, with help from 30 points from Devan Downey. The Wildcats were led by DeMarcus Cousins, who scored 27 points.
Kentucky had just moved into the top spot after Texas had dropped to 6th place. The Longhorns were #1 for two weeks, but then they lost to Kansas State, and went to Connecticut and lost again over the weekend. Kansas was at #1 before Texas, and had been the top team from the start of the season. But a loss to Tennessee on Jan 10 knocked the Jayhawks from the ranks of the unbeaten. Now Kansas is poised to reclaim the top spot after taking care of Missouri on Monday. Still, they have a big match against #13 Kansas State this weekend. The Wildcats won last night 76-74 over Baylor.
In other Top 25 games on Tuesday, #5 Michigan State beat in-state rival Michigan 57-56.
#9 West Virginia easily handled DePaul 62-46.
Boston College got 18 points from Reggie Jackson to beat #21 Clemson, 75-69.
