The Broncos are For Real

Kyle Orton? Be honest, who thought that he would be leading a 5-0 team going into week 6? I didn't, I thought trading Jay Cutler was an awful, awful move. And who knows, maybe it was - with him they could be putting up 50 a week. This team is a contender, it's official after this week's game against the Patriots and Kyle Orton is leading the way. Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter are leading a solid running game, which is to be expected of the Broncos. Brandon Marshall is playing like he should. And the defense is legit- they are giving up a measly 8.6 points per game.

I'll admit that I though this team was fake going into this week and I figured they'd get dominated by a real contender in New England... I was wrong, they rose to the pressure, mounted a late drive to tie the game up and then won it in overtime with a field goal. Only the best teams can pull off feats like that. The Broncos are one of the best.

My prediction: Kyle Orton makes the Pro Bowl as an alternate and the team loses in the AFC Championship game to the Steelers.

Oh and those throwbacks are sick.

It is a surprise to see the Broncos with 5 wins in 5 games after the 8-8 finish from a season ago. Of course if they had only been victorious in just 1 of their last 4 games, they would have went to the playoffs. I'm not totally sold on how far this team will go in the AFC though. I look at Peyton Manning with the Colts and how well that team is playing with injuries and no Marvin Harrison. Then you have the Ravens who are always right in the hunt as well. If not for a miraculous last second play, the Bengals would be 5-0 instead of 4-1. They are playing solid football but let's see if they can continue.
