The Birth of Avatar Sports
Written by jblack, Sunday January 24 2010
Actual participation in sports use to be the center of most children's world. Now it is through a computer generated computer game.
Children use to entertain themselves by going outside to play their favorite sport. Through these games they were able to develope interaction between friends and the fundamentals key to making them successful in a sport. They would play for hours and hours outside in the heat/cold and they were oblivous to this because they loved the sport and competing against their friends.
Now just like the box office hit "Avatar" kids are using computer generated images to play the sport of their choice. The result of "avatar sports" is obvious by overweight children, lack of social skills by children, and the lack of fundamentals in sports. Sure it is easier to play these games because of the lack of effort and not having to endure the weather but we are allowing sports to slowly break down. We all ready have Madden Tournaments to crown a winner of a person who hardly ever plays sports but spend hours infront of a T.V. In the future owners may just have a computer generated Super Bowl, World Series, or NBA Finals. Look at the benefits any geek can play the game, no injuries (maybe a sore thumb), low salaries, and great visuals.
