The Bears Look Monstrous Against Falcons!l

To say the Monsters of the Midway are back is an understatement. I will try not to get ahead of myself after just one game but it was an impressive victory over a pretty good team. With Tommy Smith gone the Defensive Line looks hungry. They sacked Matt Ryan five times. I cannot say that the Bears sacked a quarterback that many times in one game all of last season. Brian Urlacher looks like he could play another ten years after having seven tackles, an interception and a fumble return for his fourth touchdown of his career.

With that being said the Bears have some work to do. The defensive secondary needs to tackle better and not give up so many yards on pass plays. And one of my biggest pet peeves is not having a running back that can run the ball for 100 yards. I don’t know what they saw in Matt Forte but he is way too slow. The Bears aren’t going anywhere if they keep giving the ball to Forte. Recently Forte was asking for a contract extension. I say trade him while you can get someone of value for him. I don’t want a running back who only gets a thousand yards rushing because there are 16 games in a season.

Last year fans were complaining about the offensive line that couldn’t keep Jay Cutler upright. Forte all the while is being lauded his production most of which came from receiving yards. But with his rushing numbers you would think he was a third down back. I like the Bears pick up of Marion Barber the former Dallas Cowboys running back. He’s big and strong and can move a pile. I realize that he might be a little past his prime but I’d bet he gets more 100 yard rushing games than Matt Forte.
