Tampa Bay Buccaneers Training Camp Preview

On Friday July 31, 2010 the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will officially begin the 2010 season.  The Buccaneers who were 3-13 last season you would assume have to be better right?  Well, in my opinion the Bucs will be improved and the record should show it.

Offensively, Offensive Coordinator Greg Olson has had a whole offseason to put together his offense.  Remember last year the Bucs offense was put together literally 2 weeks before the season opener and thus never really worked.  Josh Freeman has also had a whole offseason to really digest the playbook and hopefully some Receivers can step up for Freeman in 2010. Defensively, the Bucs will use the Tampa 2 and the defense as well has had an offseason to be put together correctly by Raheem Morris.

With the additions of draft selections like Gerald McCoy the Bucs are continuing the youth movement, which will obviously lead to growing pains throughout the season.  Despite last year's horrible record the Bucs players did play hard every single game and the team itself never gave up.  This deserves major props in my mind because this cannot be said for every professional team out there.

All in all the Bucs in my mind will be improved this season.  How much of an improvement record wise depends on how well the Bucs rookies play, the quarterback play of Josh Freeman, and critical coaching decisions that seemed at times to be non-existent last season.  I will give a record prediction at the end of the preseason.  The bottom-line is during training camp and the 4 preseason games several players for the Bucs must step up in order for a successful season to be achieved.
