Stanley Cup's bite is bigger than ever

Call it a battle of wills, but the Vancouver Canucks won the tug-of-war with a goal scored by a setup from Ryan Kesler to Raffi Torres to solidify the 1-0 win with 18.5 seconds left in the game. But the news lingering into post-game analysis was the need for Boston to dig down to the depths of their team to rally before it is too late. But that's not all that surfaced from one of the highest rated Stanley Cup playoff games.
Maybe it was animosity or just rough and tough hockey, but Game 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs looked more like a boxing ring than an ice rink. Canadians don't seem to care much for Bruin's captain, Zdeno Chara, so the battle between Alex Burrows and Patrice Bergeron at the end of the first period generated bad blood even further. With Americans playing on a Canadian team and Canadians playing on an American team the battle lines are mucked. Boston's Milan Lucic is from Vancouver, while Ryan Kesler, a Michigan native on Vancouver's second line.
Burrow's avoided a suspension from interim disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan and only served a double for roughing. Bergeron acknowledged the bite, but took the antibiotics and prepped for Game 2. Pretty spirited for a guy who just came back from a concussion. Then again, Burrows wasn't thinking went he began popping off at Bergeron. Who actually has time to think in that type of game fans witnessed on Wednesday night? Despite the crowding in the penalty box, both teams accrued only 14 penalty minutes each. Should be a rough and tumble Game 2. Take a look again and decide:
I'm sure Bergeron wasn't happy traveling 2508 miles for a quick bite.
