S.F.Giants--Braves Were Stepping Stones In The Path Toward World Championship

With the Atlanta Braves out of the way, our San Francisco Giants are in position to claim their first World Championship.  The francise hasn't walked away with a crown since Willie Mays and his 1954 squad pulled it off.

For baseball fans and observers around the nation, now you know what the Giants have done to us over the past four years.  In a word..."torture!".

In a five-game series that San Francisco won in four, there was never a single inning where either team had a true advantage.  The Giants have done this to us ( the fans ) all season long.  They've frustrated us, they've confused us and they've taken us to the brink of insanity.

Yet, they are not only still alive, here in mid-October, the Giants are the team to beat.  Not Philly or the Yanks.  No, San Francisco is the team to beat because all other teams are afraid of us.

Philadelphia is the next stone we step on as we make our way to this year's World Series and there is no way they can stop us.

No hitter wants to play three of four games on the shores of McCovey Cove.  No pitcher wants to deal with a lineup that has no holes.  Let's not mentoin the fact that San Francisco has the most absolutely frightening pitching staff in baseball.

The Philadephia Phillies are this year's supposed favorites to win it all.  Big news baseball world, the Giants have owned the Philles best pitchers.  Roy Halliday got lit up by the Giants in his last appearence against San Francisco.  Roy Oswalt has a history of failure versus the Giants.  Cole Hamels ( like Oswald and Halliday, ) has suffered a loss this season at the hands of the Giants.

Philadelphia is not afraid of us, yet they know that we have their number.  Their hitters are--like most hitters--nearly invisible against the Giants.  None of them have had any degree of success against any of the Giants starters or relievers.

This series is one that the Phillies may stretch into a game five scenario, hoping to get back home for a potential game six.  Don't bet on it!

San Francisco will win this series in five games.  If the Phillies extend it to game six, it would be a shock.

Now what San Francisco needs to do is extend their pitchig rotation by giving Barry Zito his rotation spot back.   This way thier rotation will line up with Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain for Games One and Two in Philly.  We can then toss the lefties in San Francisco.  Jonathan Sanchez in Game Three, followed by Barry Zito and the rookie Madison Bumgarner.

Lincecum and Cain would be on the ready if this series has to go beyond that.  Otherwise the two of them will start Games One and Two against whatever victims the American League has to offer in the World Series.

Also, this is a good time to re-insert Pablo Sandoval into the lineup.  He should bat sixth with Cody Ross and Juan Uribe behind him.  Aubery Huff and Pat Burrell have both been slumping over the past few weeks.  It may be a good idea to have Huff bat fourth and let Buster Posey bat third.

Whatever they do would have to improve their run production.

Oh, I've forgotten.  We don't have any offense...just ask the Atlanta Braves.

Watch out, Phillies.  It's your turn to feel..."TORTURE!"
