S.F. Giants Baseball--Are You Paying Attention, Yet?

It's apparent to most fans of the San Francisco Giants that our team is in the way.

Where are the Yankees, Phillies, Rays, Cardinals and Red Sox...teams that we're expecting to see in World Series action?

The Giants weren't wanted in the playoffs.  No team wanted to face our pitching and no fans wanted to have to watch our hitting.  It wasn't labeled "Torture" without reason.

     Too bad!  Suffer!

Now that this team has made it to the World Series, baseball fans will have to endure what Giant fans have been subjected to for the past two years.  Last year we were ever-so-close and this year we made it on the last game of the season.

We'd like to thank Philadelphia for dropping by...It was a blast!

     Atlanta...enjoyed the company.  See ya'!

Now we turn our attention to the Texas Rangers.  This is not a team to take lightly.  They have a solid lineup and decent pitching.  But that's all there is to deal with and the Giants are used to dealing with a lot more.

Texas ( like Philadelphia ) has a stacked lineup that may test the San Francisco rotation.  They also have a bandbox for a home ballpark.  That would be a small challenge for this San Francisco team.

But the Giants fear no team's offense and this evening Tim Lincecum will show the entire baseball world why he won back-to-back Cy Young Awards.

It doesn't stop there.  Matt Cain, Jonathan Sanchez and Madison Bumgarner are equally frustrating for hitters to face.  It would not suprise anyone around here if this series ends in four without Texas scoring a run.

Texas is ready to fire the lone bullet in their arsenal. tonight.  Cliff Lee presents a problem with any offense, especially one whose reputation is like San Francisco.

True, the Giants are extremely overly-aggressive but they have shown the ability to step up big against some of baseball's best hurlers.

To get where they are, the Giants had to run through a gauntlet of great arms.  Against the Atlanta Braves, they faced Derek Lowe, Tommy Hanson and Tim Hudson.  The Phillies came  with Roy Halladay, Roy Oswald and Cole Hammels.

Texas is firing one stray bullet, hoping it ingnites their team to victory.      Yeah...Good luck with that, too.  Losing game one would destroy the Rangers whereas the Giants have three more lodaed weapons to fire.

The Giants won each series by two games despite a run being only +1 in the run column over that span.  We keep games close with our rotation and shut everything down with a great bullpen.

One-run games are a specialty and low scoring contests are our comfort zones.

The last time the Giants scored more than five runs, there were seven games left in the regular season.  And they lost that game.

Yes, fans.  It's time for Texas to feel what "Torture" is all about.  I would predict a Giant sweep.  However, we don't roll that way.  This team doesn't make it easy on our fans...I'll take San Francisco in six and let the celebration begin in our home park.

If I have to give a player to watch, I would say any one in Black and Orange.  Because the heroes on this team have yet to be determined.

This is the finale of a great season.

Who knew that torture could eventually feel this good?
