Quit your whining, the Yankees have money deal with it.

This is probably going to anger a lot of people but it has to be said. The New York Yankees are the champions of baseball. Joe Buck said that as Charlie Hays caught a foul ball to end the 1996 World Series. Well the same thing can be said for 2009 as the Yankees once again won the the World Series. A lot of people complain that the Yankees have bought their recent title and that it is not fair that the Yankees have all the money and can get everyone. They can just buy players and consequentially buy the the World Series.

Yes, the Yankees have the highest payroll and have the most money and spend it. But they do not buy championships. Now say your Brian Cashman, the Yankees GM, you have all this money at your dispense, how do you use it. Well what kind of GM would he be if he did not use his resources to his advantage.

Going into the 2009 season the Yankees had a couple of major holes to be fixed. A front end ace pitcher, more depth in the rotation, and a first baseman. So what did Cashman do, he got the best players available. Isn't that what he is supposed to do? Get the best players to help his team win. Thats exactly what he did. He got an ace, C.C Sabbathia, another pitcher, A.J Burnett, and a first baseman, Mark Texeira. He did what any good GM would do, get the best available talent to help his team win.

The Yankees have the most money because they 1. Play in NY, 2. they win, 3. they have a great fan base and have great attendance. For these and other reasons they have the money to spend. Fans complain about the Yankees' money, but if their team had the money they would not complain.

It is not the Yankees' fault they have money nor is it baseball's. The Yankees are not bad for baseball, in fact they are great for baseball. They sell around 4 million tickets a year. That cannot be bad for baseball. They play in the biggest market and draw the most fans on the road. How is that bad for baseball?

Now is where the casual fans have to take a step back. They say " the other teams don't have any money, the Yankees have it all." Well actually the Yankees pay a luxury tax and that money goes to the other teams so they can spend on players and increase their salary. Now it is not the Yankees fault if owners pocket the money and do not spend it or make bad decisions.

The Yankees pay your teams payroll, I am sorry but you can not complain.

Actually the Yankees have the most money because of the YES Network, where they own the rights to broadcast their own games. But pissing matches like this are the reason I hate both the Yankees and Red Sox. The fanbases are so damn obnoxious. Not you guys in particular, since you're providing rational analysis, but on the whole I find those fanbases very annoying. Thankfully, the Phillies will become the next great dynasty in baseball when they are the first NL team to win the pennant 3 years in a row since the 1942-44 St. Louis Cardinals and win the World Series again. You may now feel free to say I am an obnoxious, annoying Philly fan. By the way, Chriso, Golfnut and Captain, if any of you want to join the PlayerPress writers fantasy baseball league that I am running, please send me an email at bwhalon@yahoo.com. We need a few more teams to round out the league and you guys seem really into basball.

As a Red Sox I really can't complain at all about how the Yankees spend money...Boston attempts the same deal. As long as the salary cap is "soft" few of the small market teams have a chance to build a team the way both the Yanks and Sox do.
