The Titans set the tone early romping over the hapless Houston Texans, 31-17 on Sunday in Nashville. Collins and the Titans offense showed the Texans pass defense all the respect they deserved when on the first drive of the game they went for it on a 4th down and 8 yards at the 49 yard line. Collins promptly hit Damian Williams for a 37 yard pass giving the Titans a gateway to their first score. Two plays later, Collins hit Nate Washington for the TD and quickly it was 7-0 Titans.

The Titans offense continued to pour it on against the 32nd NFL ranked pass defense piling up a 21-0 1st quarter lead scoring 2 more touch downs at 6:38 and 2:32 mark of the quarter. The usually sluggish first half offense of the Houston Texans was only able to muster a 37 yard Neil Rackers field goal for their only 3 points of the half. The Titans would quickly answer the Texans field goal with a 30 yard Rod Bironas field goal making it 24-3 at the half.

In typical Texans style, Schaub and company came out of the locker room blazing to start the second half as they marched down the field and at 9:17 mark in the 3rd quarter Schaub hit Andre Johnson for a 12 yard touch down pass making it 24-10 Titans after the 66 yard drive. But Collins and the Titans continued to cut through the pathetic Texans defense like a hot knife through butter and at the 28 second mark of the 3rd quarter the Titans Javon Ringer runs it in from 7 yards out making it 31-10 Titans.

With 6:28 left in the game the Texans scored a meaningless touch down when Shaub hit Kevin Walter for a 6 yard TD pass and it was 31-17 Titans. After the Texans turned it over on downs with 3:40 left in the game, the Titans would go on to run out the clock on the game and another Houston Texans season.

After Monday night’s debacle against the Baltimore Ravens, many of the Texans players commented that they were playing for pride. If that’s the case, the Texans certainly swallowed that pride in Nashville on Sunday afternoon.
