NHL Fantasy Week 22
Written by hockeyheidi, Monday March 14 2011
You've tended to your team all year and now the playoffs are a week away. You may have injuries or players that you could do without, and tending to your playoff team is vital. The New York Islanders have not given up despite their basement spot in the standings. Keep playing until the end is their motto and should be yours too. Drop the dead weight and let some new talent grace your roster with some of these players who have made some nice moves:
P.A. Parentheau (RW) New York Islanders- at 10% owned, fantasy managers have taken notice of Parentheau's stats. His assists are piling high, penalty minutes decent, but it's also the power-play points, hits and shots-on-goal. Slide him in for that last push for the win.
Jamie Benn (LW) Dallas Stars- still scoring with a huge jump in ownership in the past few weeks. At 29% owned, Benn may be gone in your league but maybe not. Good choice for a LW.
Clarke McArthur (LW) Toronto Maple Leafs- like a roller coaster, McArthur can roll with the times. He's on an upswing now and at 59% owned, now may be the time to revisit this old friend. Strike while the Clarke is hot.
Martin Erat (RW) Nashville Predators- speaking of rides, Erat is on a 9-point ride into March. The Preds are doing well as of late, and Erat is helping prop up the Preds. Put on your roster while this streak is streaking.
Tyler Kennedy (C,LW) Pittsburgh Penguins- dual positions played is beneficial. Kennedy is surging as the Pens are depleted. He's a good forward to ride for the remainder of the season.
Braden Holtby (G) Washington Capitals- with 2 goaltenders out with injuries, rookie Holtby is running the show and showing up some talent. He's already 22% owned Yahoo, and he can be yours if you act fast- Neuvirth is on a daily call-up. Don't think the Caps are backing down any time soon.
Good luck this week in your playoff run. Here's hoping you landed in a nice spot and won't have to play the leader of your league. If you do, arm your team with as many category winners as possible. Daily research and dumping can help lift you into the championship match.
