A preview of NFL week 2
It was a crazy Week 1 in the NFL season but that's in the past. Let's focus on NFL Week 2 betting and examine some of the NFL odds that are on the board:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Buffalo Bills
Line: Bills -4
The Buffalo Bills are coming off a heartbreaking, calamitous performance in Week One of the NFL season and everyone wants to see how they will respond. The Bills were about to shock the world when they had an 11-point lead with just over four minutes remaining and blew it as Tom Brady came back and led the Patriots to a one-point win. The Bills were very impressive with their effort but they again fell short at the end.
The Bills now welcome the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what could be a fairly tricky contest. Although the Bucs are traveling across the country for this matchup, the Bills are on a short week because they played on Monday Night Football. The Bills will have to fix their offense in that short week because the no-huddle had mixed effects against the Patriots. They were picking up first downs but they weren't scoring points in bunches until the end.
The Bucs had a good performance in Week 1, even though the scoreboard didn't indicate that. Aside from a few breakdowns in the secondary, where they ended up giving up four passes of 40 yards or longer, the Bucs played pretty well. On offense, they were able to run the ball fairly well with Cadillac Williams and Derrick Ward, which is a great sign. Look for them to keep it close this week.
NFL picks: Bucs +4
Oakland Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs
Line: Chiefs -3.5
Everyone knows that winning at Arrowhead Stadium is always a tough proposition but giving the way the Oakland Raiders played in Week 1, maybe it won't be so hard after all. The Raiders nearly knocked off the San Diego Chargers in their opener but now they have to head out on the road in a short week of preparation.
The Chiefs have an interesting decision to make this week as Matt Cassel should be healthy to play but Brodie Croyle did lead the team fairly well in Week 1. The Chiefs will still start Cassel if he is healthy.
Look for him to get the win in his Chiefs debut as they find a way to cover.
Sports Picks: Chiefs -3.5
