New Sunday Home Jersey for Tampa Bay Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday revealed a new jersey for the 2010 season. The jersey is manufactured by Majestic Athletic, the new alternate jersey is a Columbia blue button-down with navy blue RAYS outlined in white trim across the chest and featuring the Rays sunburst. The sunburst is slightly larger than the one on the home and road jerseys. Navy trim surrounds the sleeves and collar, extending down the front of the jersey. The player's name is featured on the back in white outlined in navy. The player's number is navy outlined in white. Tampa Bay will now be one of 16 teams with four jerseys. In addition to the traditional home whites and road grays, the Rays will continue to wear a navy blue alternate for selected home and road day games. The Rays will wear a new light blue alternate jersey for Sunday home games during the 2010 season. The Rays will wear the jersey for the first time on Sunday April 11, 2010 for the third game of a three game series at Tropicana Field against the AL East Rival New York Yankees.
In other news Rays Executive VP Andrew Friedman and manager Joe Maddon held their pre-spring press conference at noon today. Manager Joe Maddon says two keys will be getting off to a quicker start and finishing games better. Also there will be more of a focus on the little things and playing better defense. Executive VP Andrew Friedman said key spring decisions will be at RF and 2B.
