Michigan Gov. Granholm officially proclaims Galarraga pitched a perfect game
Written by Greg Piatt, Thursday June 03 2010
Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm issued a proclamation Thursday, which said that Detroit Tiger pitcher Armando Galarraga pitched a perfect game on Wednesday against the Cleveland Indians.
Granholm told Detroit’s WJR radio in an interview Thursday that she issued the proclamation because Galarraga “was robbed.”
The Tigers won 3-0.
Granholm wasn’t the only Michigan politician concerned about the umpire Jim Joyce’s blown call with two outs in the ninth that spoiled the perfect game.
The Lansing State Journal reported that U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Lansing, today urged Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig to invoke the "Best Interests of the Game" clause to award Galarraga a perfect game.
U.S. Rep. John D. Dingell, D-Dearborn, also said he'll plans to introduce a congressional resolution asking Major League Baseball to overturn the Joyce’s call, the State Journal reported.

Good grief, we all feel badly about this. But Michigan's unemployment is sky high, Detroit is rotting and the Governor and Dingell are busy legislating baseball? You can tell Dingell has been in D.C. for 55 years, he doesn't know the place of the federal government anymore. This is none of the fed's business. Someone vote that guy into retirement already, he's lost touch with reality.
