The Maradona Age on the Argentine National Team started today with 25 minutes of fantastic play and a victory, 1-0 versus Scotland on a friendly match played on the Hampden Park, Glasgow.

Maradona

Argentina controlled the ball the entire match and let Scotland a few changes to draw.

In his debut as head coach, Maradona declared that he is very pleased with what the team shown in the first minutes, and with the attitude during the match.

Argentina found the victory goal in the 8th minute after a nice play finished by Maxi Rodriguez. Carlos tevez was chosen Man of the Match.

There was just one player debuting in Argentina, Emiliano Papa, who currently plays in Velez Sarsfield made his first appearance.

There's little to tell about the Scotland team... well, nothing actually.

The next confirmed match for Argentina is versus France, on february, in Marseille, that's when Argentina will have the chance to face a top team under the new direction

We have always had many of the best players in the world, youth and experience, bla, bla, bla and more bla. But we need something more: motivation and hunger of glory. That's what Maradona can give us. I'm tired of the "soccer scientists" like Marcelo Bielsa. We play 4-3-1-2 or 4-4-2 like today. And that's it. Like Maradona say few days ago: "In soccer everything is already invented". I'm not a big fan of "Maradona DT" but I think this is his moment. We have attempted many "formulas", many """starts""" and nothing. We need a winner spirit. We will see. "Step by step".
