Lucky Number 13 for Alabama

We are the CHAMPIONS! What can I say, as an alum of the University of Alabama, I am pleased as punch that my school just won the BCS National Championship to the dismay I’m sure of many.
But if you knew the true story of why this championship is so special, maybe you’ll understand why this championship means so much to us.
When your program goes through years of devastating probation, years of humiliating loses to your number one and two rivals (Auburn and Tennessee) and several coaching changes, then you’d understand why we feel jubilation at this moment.
There are people (Texas fans especially) who will say “Well Alabama only won because Colt McCoy got hurt.” I say to you Oklahoma could have said the same thing about Sam Bradford; where would the Sooners have been had Bradford not gotten hurt not just once, but twice in the same season; the last time against Texas.
Give the Longhorns credit for coming back in the game with a freshman at quarterback. Their future and his is bright. But give Alabama credit for making plays in the end to stop the Texas comeback. That’s what great teams do and that’s what they did.
Also, that’s what great coaches do. Nick Saban did in three years what most didn’t think would be possible; winning the national championship. Oh he was dogged too for leaving the Miami Dolphins, lying to the public, and making too much money. Some people even laughed when 92k fans showed up to A-Day spring game one year; who’s laughing now?
A friend of mine at ESPN said tonight: Saban was worth every penny.
This team, our fans, and coaches have been through a lot, so for the Bama nation, the view from the TOP is nice. Roll Tide!

Thank you Benn and Golfnutt. To answer your question I think this is Saban's last stop. He is in his late 50's and quite frankly, right now he has the best job in America. I think he enjoys being the BIG fish in a small pond.

Congratulations Stacey. Now the question becomes how long does "Slick Nick" stay on at Alabama? I'm sure some other big time school will come knocking.
