There are many things in life that seem to elude people. Low limit omaha high low seems to be one of those things that has eluded me. Sit down at any table offering this game and you will see why.
I have patience but I mean come on. You have to be clinically insane to endure the rigors of this game unless you are on a hot streak. No matter what you do you will be called no matter what. Let me explain. When you are dealt a great starting hand in omaha, Just like in hold em, you want to thin the field so the strength of your hand is increased. Well in a low limit omaha game the raise you make induces more people to call greatly reducing the strength of your starting hand. Loose action is the norm in these games. So you make your raise and 4 people call giving five possible starting hands out there reducing the probability that your hand is the clear favorite to win the pot. So lets say for instance you just call with your strong hand and a player in front of you raises. This can give you a better oppurtunity to reraise and thin field even more which would be a better move to increase the probability of you having the best hand. But if you just call and nobody raises therefore reducing the strength of your hand by allowing people to limp in but on the same hand it saves you a bet if you dont hit the flop and gives you an escape route knowing that you have only invested one bet and have no conrol of the betting action because you just limped in.
Yes I know people that are accomplished in poker say be aggresive, but I feel this is one game that takes alot patience and a lot less aggression for you to be successful. It is all about getting lucky and hitting the flop. So lets go play some craps instead.
