Johnny Rottens first shot at writing a monarchial obituary didn't go so well. It has been over three decades since the (at the time) young and brash singer of the Sex Pistols made his premature proclamation " the Queen is dead!". Well, not quite so fast- the old silver fox is still alive and kicking (and employed.... sorry Mr. Rotten)- so here's your shot at redemption- we are witnessing a king die- the sport of kings. Horse racing is going the way of the dinosaur. Say it with me Johnny, the King is dead.
A bit of a manifesto. I discovered horse racing 18 months ago, and it has supported me financially since. I aim to introduce this floundering sport to a younger and wider audience. Regardless of the sports current state, and it's many flaws- it is still the best form of gambling. By far.
