Knicks 86'd the 76ers
Written by Frank Gallo, Wednesday January 11 2012
It wasn't pretty but it was another tough and well deserved win. The New York Knicks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 85-79 and stopped the 76ers 5 game winning streak. Anytime you can beat the division leader, you take it. The defense was tough when it counted and held the 76ers to 79 points. It was nice to see the big men (Stoudemire, Anthony and Chandler) control the boards. The Knicks were sloppy (21 Turnovers). As sloppy as the Knicks may have been tonight, the 76ers were even sloppier. The 76ers were made to look sloppy by the good solid defense the Knicks played.
Well, earlier this week I wrote that this week would be a good read on who the Knickerbockers are. Monday's game was really ugly but they pulled off the victory. Today was not pretty but they did it again. They've won 4 straight and now face two very tough road games.
The Knicks are not going to win many games having more team turnovers than team assists. also, if the Knicks want to have any chance of beating Memphis and Oklahoma City, Josh Harrellson cannot be your leading shooter from downtown. The Knicks were pretty bad from 3 point land shooting a dreadful 27% from out there. Let's see what happens.
