Issues with Tyrelle Pryor

Does anyone besides me have an issue with how Pryor plays at the quarterback position for one of the most elite teams in the NCAA? I HATE how pryor plays and most of his decisions made on the field. I am an avid Ohio State fans and always will bleed scarlette and grey but i have a dilemma trying to like our sophomore quarterback.

I personally have three issues to bring about in his play.

1.) His quickness to take off and run with the ball

2.) Habit of staring down recievers

3.) His leadership...or lack there of

For number one it is a small issuse but i thought it still warrants some attention. To count how many times Pryor decides to make too much happen with his feet instead of just taking a sack or throwing the ball away would take more than just my hands and feet combined. I realize that he is just a sophomore and will make many mistakes but isn't this one that should be learned in high school instead of making a top 10 team in the NCAA suffer from bad mental breakdowns? This fact can be learned and changed so i won't jump all over him yet about that quite yet but let's move onto topic two.

As for his habit of stariing down recievers, this one rubs me the wrong way. The way he plays is no better than any high school quarterback who can run a sub 4.5 40 and throw the ball over fifty yards. He makes absolutly no reads...ever! Every pass play that is called Pryor has his reciever pre-chosen and if that wide-out isn't open he either forces a terrible pass (which leads to the many interceptions) or decides to run the ball (which also leads to lost fumbles and eventually injuries). The problem i have with this issue is the fact that every single high school in the United States teaches the quarterback not to stare down the reciever and to look off the safety. I understand the college game is alot faster than that of the high school level but shouldn't a starting quarterback be able to make atleast simple reads!? I could take a few bad reads every once in a while because i mean everyone is human but i have never once seen Pryor try to even attempt to read what the defense has to offer. Now to topic number three...

His leadership skills, which is very vitale to the quarterback position might i add, is absolutly horrendous. I watched as Ohio State walked over one of the early games of the season so handily that Pryor was pulled in place of Bauserman. There is nothing wrong with this but what followed shocked even me. As his team continued to play Pryor decided he was tired of wearing his pads and walked to the sidelines, took off his shoulder pads rib pads etc..., and continued to watch his team play as he sat on the bench not even a tiny bit interested in the game. This showed me a lack of leadership in trying to make his fellow teammates, who may not get to play as often, better. Not only that it showed that he really didn't care about his team he just was worried about how he played and how he looked rather than if the team won and if the team looked good. If I'm not mistaken this game was won with many defensive and special teams touchdowns and i don't think pryor scored once. Maybe it was just me but i sure think there is a lack of leadership in Pryor which is the main characteristic of a collegiate quarterback.

Feel free to leave some comments and let me know what the public thinks but that was my take on this season with only the Rose Bowl left....maybe this has all changed for the better with this long break but I'll have to see it to believe it.
