Indians let another stud go
Written by Johnny Kupcik, Thursday August 06 2009
I don't understand how our ownership thinks that the Indians can be competitive let alone win a championship without putting in some money to the team.
The latest of Inidans studs to get let go for "prospects" is Reigning Cy Young award winner Cliff Lee. These makes back to back years that we traded away Cy Young winners with C.C being last year. And of course his first game with the Phillies is a shutout complete game, it gets frusturating when you see all star after all star let go.
Now I understand some times these prospects do turn out to be gems like a Grady Siezmore or Cliff Lee but we never are able to hold on to them and they are few and far between. Two days later the indians trade there best player Victor Martinez for dirt. Prospects who are hurt and posistion players that we dont need.
The thing that upsets me is he wasnt even in a contract year we still had him for another year. Why not wait till next seasons trading deadline all this means is we are throwing away next years season to.
OH, and what does he do his first game in Boston only 5 hits to help put up 18 runs the BO-Sox's season high. You know the saying goes if you want to make money you got to spend money. This isnt the NFL there is no collective bargining agreement (no idea why not prolly why they always go on strike) so you got to fend for yourself.
Look at the late 90's and early 2000's the indians sold out every game for 5 and a half seasons, so obviously the fans are out thier (Dick Jacobs understood that)....So Dolan brothers give us a reason to have hope, go out and spend some money to field a team that doesnt resemble a minor league team, if not I mine as well go to Columbus for a Clippers game......STOP BEING CHEAP ASS*** AND HELP A STARVING CITY DAMN IT!
WONDER WHY YOU LOST 16 MILLION THIS YEAR AND PROLLY MORE NEXT?

Baseball season is a slow and painful death every year. Then at the trade deadline cheap teams officially throw in the towel and tell the fan base its rebuilding for a future that more often then not never comes. Not having deep pockets is like having to watch everything you eat to stay healthy while the Yankees and Red Sox's just go to the buffet everyday and never feel the effects.
