Just three weeks removed from winning the H5AB Qualifier 3, the Elite broke out again in a big way piling up 13 runs on the Milby Buffalos for a 13-2 victory in the H5AB Fall Grand Championship.
Juan Cortina (Atascocita) got it started with an RBI in the top of the 1st to take a 1-0 lead. Scooter Farr (New Caney), Nolan Jordan (Atascocita), Juan Cortina, Sam May (Kingwood Park), Justin Law (Atascocita) and Toby Teneli (Atascocita); drove in 7 runs in the 2nd to break it open and give the Elite a 9-0 lead. Milby scored 2 in the bottom of the third but that would be all the Buffalos would plate as the Elite bats were on fire and their pitching was as solid as it gets at the end of a tournament.
The Elite added 5 more in the 4th with RBI by Brian DeYoung (Atascocita), J.Law, and Thomas Harwell (Astascocita) giving the Elite a 13-2 victory in the H5AB Fall Grand Champiosnhip. Matt Brister (Clear Springs) picked up the win with 4 solid innings pitched, giving up just 2 runs while striking out 2.
Sam May, Kingwood Park, 2011, Elite 2011, was named the Tournament MVP while the Elite placed Brian DeyoungToby Tinelli, Trevor Odom, Scooter Farr, and Matt Brister, on the All Tournament Team.
Milby finishes the Grand Championship in 2nd place while the Houston Banditos Baseball Club Gold, finished the weekend in 3rd.
