Gimmick or not, the Wildcat is for real, at least for now

Rex Ryan is not real impressed with the wildcat but why not? You just lost to it.

I have mad respect for Rex Ryan and what he has brought to the NY Jets. I respect the man being a Steelers fan, his defense in Baltimore has always been impressive. But lets face the facts, you lost to the wildcat offense, give it some credit. Although Ryan made Michigan product Chad Henne "Dan Marino" says Ryan, in last nights game he did go 20-26 241 yards 2 TDS with a qb rating of 130.4 is Dan Marino numbers but the wildcat set all of this up. The Jets were so set on stopping the wildcat that they forgot about Henne or they just dared him to beat them and he did.

When I was watching the game and it was 3rd down and goal with seconds remaining I said to a friend, "You have one timeout left with 10 seconds remaining and you are at the two or three yard line, go with what got you here and what you pride yourself on, the wildcat." And they did and I thought it was the best choice to make because they were allowed to run the football with 10 seconds with plenty of time to call a timeout. Instead of having Henne go for the throw they went with Ronnie Brown at the helm and he pulled through as well as Tony Sparano.

I do believe that the wildcat of the Dolphins needs to involve more passing from Ronnie Brown, but this offense has proved to be successful. I can see the end of the wildcat but until then keep rolling with it. Just think, the Dolphins could easily be 4-1 instead of 2-3 because they dominated the Colts and Peyton Manning in time of possession and plays ran. Impressive is what I am about the Dolphins and I think they have just as good of a chance to win the AFC East as anybody.
