Final Mock Draft v3.2

Because Monday's three-team trade between Detroit, Denver, and Philadelphia came before the end of the business day, it led to a couple of adjustments to this mock draft.

1. St. Louis Rams – QB Sam Bradford, Oklahoma
Bradford’s gamble paid off as he aced his personal workout. The Rams say they won’t make a decision on Bradford until they work him out just days before the draft, but they’re probably 98 percent sure right now.

2. Detroit Lions – DT Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska
A player with a non-stop motor goes to the Motor City to lead a defensive turnaround.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – DT Gerald McCoy, Oklahoma
TB won’t be disappointed no matter who is left between the top DTs.

4. Washington Redskins – OT Russell Okung, Oklahoma State
With Donovan McNabb in place as the new starting quarterback, ensuring a safe work environment is the next objective.

5. Kansas City Chiefs – S Eric Berry, Tennessee
The defense needs a complete overhaul. If Berry is as good as advertised as an Ed Reed-like player, he will make an impact in the pass and run defense.

6. Seattle Seahawks – OT Trent Williams, Oklahoma
QB Charlie Whitehurst might become the next Rob Johnson if he can’t stay upright. Williams will be Whitehurst’s bodyguard.

7. Cleveland Browns – QB Jimmy Clausen, Notre Dame
Even though the Browns still have a bad taste in their mouth from the last Fighting Irish QB they drafted (Brady Quinn in 2007), they don’t hold it against Clausen.

8. Oakland Raiders – OT Brian Bulaga, Iowa
A terrible offensive line is down a man with Cornell Green leaving as a free agent. The Raiders really hope Bulaga isn’t a Robert Gallery sequel.

9. Buffalo Bills – OG Mike Iupati, Idaho
The Bills take a flier on the guard with tackle size in hopes Iupati becomes a versatile player able to fill in at up to four positions along the line.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars – DE Derrick Morgan, Georgia Tech
Third DE in three years for the Jags since Derrick Harvey and Quentin Groves combined for two sacks last year.

11. Denver Broncos – LB Rolando McClain
This could change to a WR if Brandon Marshall is traded. Considering how the run defense faltered down the stretch, they need help in the middle.

12. Miami Dolphins - LB Sergio Kindle, Texas
Joey Porter is gone and Jason Taylor is being wooed by division rival the New York Jets. Kindle and Cameron Wake will be the future of the Dolphins’ pass rush.

13. San Francisco 49ers – S Earl Thomas, Texas
Thomas won’t be the physical force Ronnie Lott was for the Niners back in the ‘80s, but he can be a difference-maker for the secondary.

14. Seattle Seahawks – RB C.J. Spiller, Clemson
The offense has gone through a lot of changes through free agency. Seattle’s run game hasn’t been the same since Shaun Alexander declined.

15. New York Giants – CB Joe Haden, Florida
The pass rush can’t hide the secondary forever. Corey Webster and Terrell Thomas are OK, but neither have the shut down potential that Haden has.

16. Tennessee Titans – DE Jason Pierre-Paul, South Florida
Pierre-Paul is another physical freak, evidenced by the video of his 13 straight back-flips. Is it a coincidence he wore 90 in college like the professional Freak Jevon Kearse?

17. San Francisco 49ers – C Maurkice Pouncey, Florida
Pouncey’s versatility to play either center or guard appeals to the Niners after the departure of Tony Pashos.

18. Pittsburgh Steelers – CB Kyle Wilson, Boise State
The secondary had just 10 interceptions last year. More importantly, Pittsburgh has a deal with a division that throws the ball around.

19. Atlanta Falcons – DE Brandon Graham, Michigan
They’re considering moving former first rounder DE Jamal Anderson to tackle. Graham and his non-stop hustle makes the move possible.

20. Houston Texans – CB Kareem Jackson, Alabama
Jackson’s stock recently shot up draft boards with impressive workouts. The Texans hope what they saw is true, as they need a replacement for Dunta Robinson.

21. Cincinnati Bengals – DT Dan Williams, Tennessee
It finally came together on the defense for head coach Marvin Lewis. Now he tries to make Cincy’s D elite by adding Williams.

22. New England Patriots – DT Jared Odrick, Penn State
Gone are Richard Seymour and Jarvis Green in the last two years, with Damione Lewis signed for one year. The Pats continue to turn over an aging defensive line.

23. Green Bay Packers –OT Bruce Campbell, Maryland
When the offensive line gives up 51 sacks, it’s a little unfair to pinpoint the deficiency. Is Campbell as good as his workouts or is he the next Tony Mandarich?

24. Philadelphia Eagles – S Nate Allen, South Florida
Trading for LB Ernie Sims allows Philly to focus on their attention on the secondary. If they can't trade up for Berry or Earl Thomas, they'll happily settle for Allen.

25. Baltimore Ravens –DT Brian Price, UCLA
With Dwan Edwards and Junstin Bannan gone, the Ravens have to put playmakers around Haloti Ngata and Ray Lewis.

26. Arizona Cardinals – WR Dez Bryant, Oklahoma
‘Zona is down three receivers from last year. They’ll take Bryant’s character issues into consideration, but his talent is too good to pass up.

27. Dallas Cowboys – OT Anthony Davis, Rutgers
Maturity is an issue with Davis, but Dallas needs to replace Flozell Adams after releasing the aging LT.

28. San Diego Chargers – RB Ryan Mathews, Fresno State
The Chargers already said good-bye to LaDanian Tomlinson. If they keep Darren Sproles, SD needs a full-time ball carrier.

29. New York Jets – DE Jerry Hughes, TCU
The defense is just missing a sack artist. Vernon Gholston hasn’t been it and his time is running out.

30. Minnesota Vikings – CB Patrick Robinson, Florida State
The NFC North has a lot of great receivers in the division. The Vikings need more depth in the secondary if they hope to stay on top.

31. Indianapolis Colts – DT LaMarr Houston, Texas
Indy already added bulk to the offensive line through free agency. Adding more beef to the D-line is next.

32. New Orleans Saints – LB Sean Weatherspoon, Missouri
Enough isn’t being made out of the loss of Scott Fujita. But the Saints realize they lost an important part of the defense. The athletic and heady Watson could contribute quickly.

Out of the first round

CarolinaThe Panthers have been decimated in free agency. QB Matt Moore has a shot to become the face of the franchise, but he won’t go unchallenged, as ‘Lina should draft a QB to put pressure on Moore. The defense lost five starters and must replenish the losses.

Chicago The Bears were big spenders in free agency, but money doesn’t always buy wins. None of the free agent purchases were for the offensive line, the biggest obstacle towards offensive success. Adding a ballhawk at cornerback could really help.

The reason I went with Haden for the Giants is because he's the best player available. It might be a reach to nab a DT, although that probably would be the logical choice based on need.

No way the Giants are going to take a CB, not with Webster, Thomas and Aaron Ross. They're set in the D backfield for years to come with them and Rolle and Kenny Phillips. If McClain is gone look for them to trade down and take Brandon Spikes, LB, Fla. Haden won't get past Cleveland anyway.
