Eli Manning is God To Bears Fans

Regardless of what happens in the playoffs and the result of the Super Bowl, Eli Manning and not his brother Peyton has proven to be the “Giant Killer” and the wunderkind of the Manning family of Quarterbacks. With 2011-12 being the year of the quarterback, Manning has proven in the post season he may be one of the best ever when it comes to the biggest games. He’s beaten the Packers twice in Green Bay facing two of the best quarterbacks that city has ever seen in Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. He also knocked off an undefeated Patriots team looking to make history in 2008 attempting to be the first team since the ’72 Dolphins to go undefeated in the regular season and win the Super Bowl.

Speaking of the regular season the Giants showed this season that it matters for very little if a team can struggle as they did and win on the road. It helps to be in a bad division.

Being a Bears fan and seeing how important QB’s are to a franchise, so much so it can get a GM fired, Eli Manning should be in the discussion of who will be the best at the start of every season. I don’t think the Giants can beat the Patriots again in the Super Bowl. They have more weapons than the Giants and a bad taste in their mouths from 2008.

Tom Brady set a number of post season records in their victory over the Broncos Saturday night especially with his six touchdown passes. But Matt Cassel proved that any decent Quarterback can win in that system. Perhaps the Giants are great at playing underdogs. They have shown however that it takes a great leader to pull it off and keeping Coach Tom Coughlin employed. Tebow mania is finally put to rest for the season; clearly God isn’t a Broncos fan after all.

Being from Chicago I relish watching the Packers lose. Relish seeing Aaron Rodgers make uncharacteristic errors. His receivers dropping passes. The multiple turnovers were uncharacteristic as well. Admittedly I am still seething over the Bears allowing the Packers into the playoffs in last year. Even more upset that the Steelers couldn’t beat a Wild Card team in the Super Bowl. I digress. Eli Manning put that bitterness to rest.
