Devils: Lou has done it again
Written by Howie, Saturday January 10 2009

Just one day after the Devils played one of their worst games in recent memory GM Lou Lamoriello has made a move.
As has been the trend lately for Lamoriello and the Devils when looking for players to help in the present, they returned to their past. According to Sportingnews.com the Devils have agreed in principle with former Devil and current unrestricted free agent Brendan Shanahan. Shanahan was drafted by the Devils in 1987 and now returns to the Devils after failing to work out a new contract with the rival Rangers.
It seems that Lamoriello has yet again pulled off a move that few saw coming to help this team. Once he is ready to return to the ice Shanahan should provide an immediate boost to the Devils floundering power play and the offense in general. Throughout his career Shanahan has been known for his superb shot and although he is towards the end of his career he has continuously shown the ability to remain healthy and effective for a full season.
I believe Lamoriello has yet again saved the Devils season and that the acquisition of Shanahan could be crucial to this teams success in the second half of the season.
