These are the significant plays of the first half
Again the Vikings dont alow the opposing team to score an opening drive TD as they strip the ball from Tony Romo. The Vikes are the only team that have not allowed a TD to the other team on their first drive. On the Vikings first drive they go 3 and out as Demarcus Ware sacks Favre on third down. Shaun Suisham misses a 48 yard field goal on the Cowboys 2nd drive and gives the Vikings pretty good field position to start the drive. So far the Vikings have only had -6 yards of total offense. The Vikes 2nd drive Favre hooks up with Rice for a 47 yard touch down. Vikes up 7-0. Suisham hits a 33 yard field goal to make the score 7-3. On the Vikings next drive Brett Favre and Sidney Rice join together and get their 2nd TD of the day and this one was for 16 yards. Now the score is 14-3. Allen forces Tony to lose his third fumble of the game and the Vikes get the ball again at great field position. Dallas's defense hold the Vikings from getting a TD, but Ryan Longwell knocks down a 23 yard field goal to make the score 17-3. The Vikings are winning the turnover battle where the Cowboys have turned it over twice and the Vikes with none. Unless the Cowboys can get a spark from their offense then this one is over.
