There are 4 big games Saturday that will help determine who goes where in the BCS. I have broken down these games predicted the scores of each.
The first game I am breaking down is #5 Cincinnati (11-0) vs. #15 Pitt (9-2). This game is for the Big East Championship and a trip to a BCS bowl. Leading Cinncy is their senior QB Tony Pike. Although Pike missed a few games with an arm injury he has still put up great numbers, Pitt will counter with running back Dion Lewis. Lewis has rushed for 1,446 yards and 13 TDs. Cinncy who is ranked 19th in the country in total Offense will look to score early and put the game away quick. Pitt who is number 1 in the country in total sacks will look to pressure Pike and force him into bad decisions. I think the game will come down to Pike and his playmaking ability. My score: Cinncy 27 Pitt 21
The next big game is #10 Georgia Tech (10-2) vs. unranked Clemson (8-4). Both teams will pound the ball on the ground. GT who is the 2nd ranked rushing team in the country will use their triple option to confuse the Tigers and put a hurt on them. Both Josh Nesbitt and Jonathan Dwyer have rushed for more than 10 TDs, Clemson is lead by the do everything man C.J. Spiller. Spiller has rushed for 912 yards and 7 TDs, caught 32 passes for 440 yards and 4 TDs and is the number 1 ranked return man in college history. I think this game will come down to how successful GT is at running their option. If they limit there mistakes and turnovers this game could become a laugher. My score: GT 35 Clemson 17
The Third game is #3 Texas (12-0) vs. unranked Nebraska (9-3) for the Big 12 championship. If Texas wins they are into the National Championship game. Texas is led by Heisman hopeful QB Colt McCoy. McCoy has had a monster yeah. He and his roommate Jordan Shipley make an almost unstoppable duo. The unmatched chemistry from these two has made opposing defenses shutter with fear. The defense for Texas has been one of the best all year. Giving up only 15.4 points per game. Nebraska’s defense has been suprisingly better giving up only 11.1 points per game, good enough for 3rd in the nation. The cornhuskers D is lead by D tackle Ndamukong Suh, who will likely be a first round pick in this upcoming draft. With both defenses ranked in the top 10 you would think this would be a tough physical game. I see Texas having no problems dominating and earning their trip to the National Title game. My score: Texas 41 Nebraska 21
The last game is most definitely going to be the best one of the day. #1 Florida (12-0) vs. #2 Alabama (12-0). This game has two Heisman Finalists going against each other. One the greatest college football player to ever play the game. Tim Tebow has won 2 BCS titles, this is his third straight SEC title game. He lives for big moments. Florida's stacked once again this year and has studs at every position. Line backer Brandon Spikes is the emotional and physical leader of the Gators, D which is ranked number 1 in the nation. Their opponent, the Alabama Crimson Tide has the second ranked D in the nation. They also have this guy named Mark Ingram and in case you don't know, this kid can play. He has led Bama to a perfect season so far and is looking to claim his first SEC title. He was held out of practice Monday with a hip injury but said there is no doubt he will play in this game. He will be ready and he won’t miss a beat. With all this talent this could be a game for the ages. The loss of Florida’s Carlos Dunlap is a huge one. He is the number 1 rated D end on Mel Kiper's big board. He is a dominating force and without his presence Florida will be notably weaker up front. This game is going to come down to 3 factors. Both of them on Florida's side. Number 1 is the play of Brandon Spike. He is going to need to fire up his team and pick up the slack for the suspened Dunlop. The other factor is a no brainier, Tim Tebow. If he does what he has done throughout his college football career Alabama will be in trouble. If he does this Florida will be playing in their second straight national Title game. The third factor will be the play of Bama's O line. If they fail to open any holes for Ingram and make Alabama become 1 demensional Bama will lose this game. With all the hype leading up to this game I think it will be a good one. I see both defensives dominating and a scoring game. My score: Florida 21 Alabama 17
