I am not calling myself the Nostradamus of sports here, but to be honest Miles Austin’s performance against Kansas City was no surprise to me.

I am not calling myself the Nostradamus of sports here, but to be honest Miles Austin’s performance against Kansas City was no surprise to me. In fact I was surprised that he didn’t get offered the starting postion in the beginning of the year. I am sure it had a lot to do with the money spent on Roy Williams. After all Wade and Garret had to show Jerry Jones that his money was spent well right?

Was I the only one who saw Austin’s pre-season catches? Some spectacular catches I might add. How about last season when in only 12 games he averaged 20 plus yards per game. That is about 278 yards for you stat guys.

It put it bluntly, the man catches just about everything thrown at him. That is what is needed for Dallas plain and simple. Now we will have to see if the over rated grossly over paid Jason Garret can do some play calling that will complement the talent at hand. That is the bigger question mark here that would baffle even the foresight of Nostradamus.

As for Patrick Clayton, well the light at the end of the tunnel wasn’t a way out, it was a train. He should have saw it coming. From what I am told he was a little upset that he wasn’t told about his new demotion to “Pineville“. I can understand about wanting to hear the news from coach Wade “Benny Hill” Phillips, but such as life. The constant about life is that it is seldom fair. Look at the bright side, you could be in Buffalo.

So the stars lined up and it is now Miles Austin time to shine. We all have our private 2012, Crayton’s just arrived three years earlier and I don’t see him getting his position back. Miles Austin will show the world what happens when preparation meets opportunity.

I am sure if the great Nostradamus were still alive he would say to Miles on this coming Sunday, “ Carpe Diem my friend, Carpe Diem.”
