BRUINS RECEIVE A GIFT
Written by Tanque Arthur, Thursday April 29 2010
The Montreal Canadiens gave the Boston Bruins a HUGE gift last night. Not that anyone on Causeway street should be expecting roses and candies for their moms on May 9th. With their shocking upset over the "best team in the regular season" Washington Capitals, the Habs set up the Bruins with a much more manageable opponent in the Philadelphia Flyers, while letting the Blu,Blanc, and Rouge handle the fast skating, high scoring defenders of Lord Stanley's cup the Pittsburgh Penguins. The B's should in no way take this "gift" for granted. The Flyers, who spent most of the season trying to find a consistant level of play(sound familiar) fired head coach John Stevens and brought in ex Carolina Hurricanes Cup winning coach Peter Laviolette. Their first round slap around of the New Jeresy Devils should be enough of a red flag that this team, although injury plagued and lacking in scoring depth can, and will be a dangerous opponent. Boston will need to bring a doubleA+ effort from first shift to it's last. The typical slow starting B's will have to have better first periods than what they had in the Sabres series. The defensive giveaways in their own end, missed open nets, and soft play wont work here. The Flyers bring a gritty, mean and opportunistic bunch to the Lively Garden. The Bruins received quite a gift for it's second round foe...They would be wise to take full advantage.

Yup, the Bruins do have to play better in the first 20 minutes every game. I have posted "The Bruins Prayer" on my site on Blogger. That is on my profile here on PlayerPress
