Brandon Marshall not Lacking Confidence
Written by Travis Pulver, Monday June 28 2010
The newest addition to the Miami Dolphins wide receiver corps is not wasting any time in making his voice heard and his presence known.
Recently, Marshall went on a radio tour around the area to promote his youth football camp on Saturday. Not one to miss out on a golden opportunity to take advantage of a captive media audience, the former Denver Broncos made a prediction on the coming season in his new home.
According to Marshall he is going to have to the best season of his career.
For someone who has caught over 100 balls in each of the last three seasons a statement like that comes as no surprise.
Marshall came on slowly his first season after getting drafted in the 4th round of the 2006 draft catching just 20 balls for 309 yards and 2 touchdowns. Since then he has caught 102, 104, and 101 balls respectively, with well over 1000 yards in each season.
His claim may seem more over-confident with the inexperienced Chad Henne expected to line-up behind center. In 2009, Henne played in 14 games and averaged just over 200 yards a game with 2 more interceptions (14) than touchdowns (12). However, in college he did throw for close to 10,000 yards with 87 touchdowns and 37 interceptions in 47 games.
The Dolphins have also been more of a running team in recent years as well. In 2009, they were the 4th best running team in the league averaging 139.4 yards a game behind the duo of Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams.
