Wall And Turner Top NBA Draft
Written by Christopher Corazon, Thursday June 24 2010
The NBA draft is tonight, and the Washington Wizards are expected to draft Kentucky Wildcats point guard John Wall. Wall is originally from Raleigh, NC. The Washington Post did a recent article about Wall’s father, who was in prison. Supposedly, Wall did not know why his father was in prison, and the writer revealed that it was for murder. It has created a bit of controversy about whether the writer should have done that.
When Wall gets to Washington, he will join a sports scene that has seen the excitement rise with the debut of last year’s first pick in baseball, Stephen Strasburg. Strasburg’s first start was nicknamed “Merry Stras-mas”, and a local restaurant has a Stasburger, which includes a hot dog. It remains to be seen what hype Wall will bring.
The second pick belongs to the Philadelphia 76ers. They are projected to take Ohio State’s Evan Turner. Turner was the AP Player of the Year even though he missed part of the season due to injury. The 76ers might trade the pick away. The New Jersey Nets, who had the worst record in the NBA, will draft third.
