Titans Offense in Trouble

With an 8-2 run in the final ten games of the season in 2009 the Tennessee Titans got a whiff of what it could be look if the team had all the right pieces on the field for an entire season. Sadly, they may not get to see what it is like in 2010 either.

The team could be forced to have Kerry Collins behind center again. After getting in a fight in a Dallas strip club, it would not be surprising to see the Titans have to do without their star quarterback, Vince Young, for at least a couple games.

Not only might Vince Young come up missing, but the league’s most talented running back could be missing in action as well.

Chris Johnson has yet to report to any off-season activities and it remains to be seen whether he will report to training camp on time. The third year running back is still upset over his current salary, something which the Titans appear not too interested in addressing.

“I can’t play for $550,000…the money I am playing for, I am getting paid less than the starting 11 (on offense) and I’m one of the lowest paid starting running backs in the league.” (USAToday)

If Young is out for anytime in the regular season the Titans will likely be hoping for Kerry Collins of two seasons ago to show up or they could give Chris Simms a chance. While a 2000+ yard running back cannot be replaced, the Titans may be forced to do so with second year player Javon Ringer, Alvin Pearman, and rookie LeGarrette Blount.
