Steve Kerr to Quit as Suns GM
According to reports, after three seasons working for the Phoenix Suns, General Manager Steve Kerr is calling it quits when his contract expires at the end of the month.
Even though he was expected to receive a new contract after the Suns finished the season 54-28, and then fought tooth and nail to push the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers to six games in the Western Conference finals, Kerr will turn down the contract.
He has decided that he will return to the booth and his previous job as a television analyst. The opportunity to return to television for Kerr was just too much of an incentive for him to remain in his position as the Suns general manager.

The Suns are facing a critical offseason with All-Star forward Amar'e Stoudemire becoming a potential free agent and possibly hitting the market, so it would be advantageous for them to find a replacement for Kerr as quickly as possible.
