College World Series Set
Written by Christopher Corazon, Tuesday June 15 2010
Oklahoma defeated Virginia 11-0 in the Charlottesville super regional to earn one of the final spots in the College World Series. Virginia had been ranked number one in college baseball during the season, but they are now eliminated. Oklahoma will play South Carolina on Sunday afternoon. South Carolina upset fourth seeded Coastal Carolina to qualify for the College World Series.
In fact, only three of the top eight seeds made it. Arizona State is considered to be the favorite to win the whole thing. They will take on Clemson, who beat Alabama to make the tournament. The College World Series begins this weekend in Omaha for the rest of June and has eight teams. In addition to Oklahoma, South Carolina, Arizona State, and Clemson, the remaining teams are Florida, Florida State, TCU, and UCLA.
