Boise State Changing Blue Turf

Boise State is finally changing the blue turf on their football field.

The blue turf is not being replaced because it is an eye sore; it is being replaced because of a reflective glare that has bothered fans for the past two seasons.

According to Athletic director Gene Bleymaier, there are light-reflecting fibers in the current blue artificial field that are causing problems for people watching the game both in person and on television.

Bleymaier says FieldTurf has offered to fix the problem and is doing without any cots to the school. For all of you football traditionalists that are jumping for joy that Boise State is finally changing that ugly blue turf to a proper green turf, stop jumping, and sit back down.

They are changing the current blue turf with a different blue turf. Yes, the Boise State turf will still be blue.

Because FieldTurf is going to fix the problem for free, the school did not estimate the cost of the project.

The school says the work on the new field will begin June 21 and should be completed by July 30. Team practices begin on Aug. 6.

After going undefeated last season, Boise State has high expectations for the upcoming season.
