Krzyzewski not interested in Coaching Nets
Mike Krzyzewski, who is coaching Duke in the NCAA national championship game on Monday night, is not interested in leaving Duke in order to coach in the NBA for the New Jersey Nets.
Coach K” has given the thumbs down to rumors about the Nets job before. Krzyzewski has said that he has not been contacted by the Nets and that he "wouldn't have any interest in the job. You would be flattered if someone would offer you a job, but I would not be interested."
According to anonymous sources, reports have surfaced that incoming Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov would offer Krzyzewski between $12 million and $15 million per season to coach the Nets.
Coach K" has led the Blue Devils to 3 NCAA Championships, 11 Final Fours, which is tied for second most in history, 12 ACC Regular Season Titles, and 12 ACC championships over his 30 seasons at Duke.
Krzyzewski has an NCAA-record 76 NCAA tournament victories, while averaging more than 25 wins per season. He is only the sixth men's basketball coach in NCAA history to reach the 800-win plateau and he was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame following the 2001 season.
