McNabb wants to be a Viking

According to reports surfacing on Friday, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donavan McNabb, who has been mentioned recently in numerous trade rumors, has said the if he is traded, the Minnesota Vikings would be his first choice as to where he would like to play and be traded to.

The Vikings are once again involved in the Brett Favre yearly soap opera drama of not knowing whether or not the star quarterback will come back to the team for yet another season or decide to retire.

Many people believe that Favre will in fact return to the Vikings for one more season. The only question on everyone’s mind is when.

Even if Favre does not return, the Vikings probably would not know for sure until it gets close to training camp, or after camp has already actually started. We all know that Brett does not particularly enjoy the rigors of training camp and it might be likely that he will not make a definite decision until midway through camp.

McNabb is likely to already be on another team at that point if in fact he is traded by the Eagles.

There is also the thought that if McNabb was traded to the Vikings, would it help Favre make the decision to retire, or come back anyway and start a quarterback controversy in Minnesota?  McNabb would definitely want to start and not ride the bench behind Favre, and Favre would not come back to possibly be a backup either.

Oh the plot thickens.

According to another report, McNabb said that he would also be "open" to a trade to the 49ers.
