Shaquille O'Neal Reaches Divorce Settlement with Wife.

Shaquille O'Neal and his estranged wife, Shaunie Nelson have finally reached a settlement in their divorce.

 

The case has been going on for a whole now. Back in November of last year, Shaq wanted to get his wife Shaunie booted from the court system in California, where she had filed for the divorce.

 

The problem with this was the fact that while they were married, the couple lived in Florida. However, by filing for the divorce in California, where Shaunie moved to with their kids just days after filing for a legal separation, she would stand to get a more substantial spousal support then she would from filing in the state of Florida.

Shaunie's monster-lawyer, Sorrell Trope, said that the estranged couple have reached an agreement on all of the terms of the divorce, including child custody, property division, and spousal support.

Under the agreement, the Florida courts will have jurisdiction to officially grant the divorce for the couple. In addition, a Florida judge will handle any issues that may come up as far as property division and spousal support are concerned.

 

However, because Shaunie now lives in California with the kids, the California courts will have jurisdiction over any issues that come up in relation to the child custody.
