Miami Heat forward Dorell Wright busted for DUI
Dorell Wright, a Miami Heat forward, was arrested early this morning in
According reports, Wright was driving erratically and pulled over by police at 3:37 AM.
The police have said they approached the vehicle and when they began speaking with Wright, they noticed red and watery eyes, low and slurred speech, and that they could clearly smell alcohol on his breath.
To make matters even worse, Wright, 24, was driving on a suspended driver's license, and he could not provide the police with any current insurance information.
Wright was arrested and taken to a nearby jail where he was booked for a DUI and driving on a suspended license.
Earlier in the evening, Wright played 22 minutes in the Heat's victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. He was not a factor in the game as he only scored one point throughout the game.
Wright was selected 19th overall in the 2004 NBA Draft by the Heat. He entered the NBA directly out of high school, after averaging 29.4 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks per game for South Kent Prep in
Wright was a member of the Heat's first NBA championship squad in 2006.
