NHL Power Rankings 11/30

Here are the National Hockey Leagues Power Rankings as of November 30th.

  1.   Blackhawks 16-6-3

The Blackhawks are a team to be reckoned with this season. Although they trail the Sharks in the Western Conference, a 7-2 bashing of the Sharks in San Jose in Marian Hossa's first game with the team, showed what this team is made of.

2.   Sharks 18-6-4

The Sharks have bounced back with two straight victories after being thrashed 7-2 by the Blackhawks. They have won four of their last five games and are still one of the best teams in the NHL.

  3.   Devils 17-6-1

Although still the top team in the Eastern Conference, the injuries keep mounting up as David Clarkson is out four to six weeks after blocking a shot. However, the Devils keep on winning and still remain the team to beat in the East.

  4.   Penguins 18-9-0

The reigning champs are getting healthy, and that could be trouble for the rest of the NHL before all is said and done.

  5.  Flames 16-6-3

The Flames are a stunning 9-1-3 in away games and continue to win this season so far regardless of who is in the net.

  6.  Capitals 15-5-6

The Caps are winning games and getting it done, but their 23rd ranking in killing penalties is a big concern.

  7.   Predators 15-9-1

The Predators have won nine of their last 11 to move up this list in dramatic fashion.

  8.   Bruins 13-8-5

After winning five of six and gaining points in six straight games, the Bruins have moved past Ottawa into first in their division.

  9.  Sabres 14-7-2

The Sabres have won two in a row to end a four-game losing streak that saw them fall behind the Bruins in the Northeast.

  10.  Thrashers 13-7-3

The Thrashers rank first in goals per game, even with three shutouts in their last eight outings. They're 7-1-2 in their past 10 games.

  11.  Kings 15-10-2

The Kings have lost three of five and they need to prove that they can still win consistently even without leader Ryan Smyth.

  12.  Avalanche 14-8-5

The Avalanche have lost five of their last six games and you have to wonder where this slide will leave the NHL’s early-season surprise pick.

  13.   Senators 13-7-4

The Senators have collected points in seven of their past eight games and could be moving up the board.

  14.   Red Wings 12-9-4

The Red Wings have lost three of their last four games and scored just four goals in those games. They are not the Red Wings of the past.

  15.  Stars 12-7-7

The Stars have not won more then two games in a row all season.

  16.  Blue Jackets 12-9-4

The Blue Jackets own the NHL’s top-ranked power play, but rank 28th in goals against and have lost five straight games.

17.   Lightning 10-6-8

The Lightning have lost five of eight but still managed to collect points in three of those losses.

  18.  Coyotes 15-11-1

The Coyotes have lost eight of 14, but just when you want to give up, they pull off a big win.

  19.  Canucks 14-12-0

The Canucks offense has taken off lately with four or more goals in four of their last six games.

  20.  Flyers 13-10-1

The Flyers have lost five of six games, including being shut out in their last game against the Thrashers.

21.   Blues 10-9-5

The Blues might be turning things around as they have gone 4-1-1 in their past six games.

  22.   Islanders 10-10-7

The Islanders have lost five of their last eight games and cannot get a streak going as they win a big one then lose one big.

23.   Canadiens 12-12-2

The Canadiens rank 23rd on the power play and 27th in goals per game.

  24.  Rangers 13-12-1

The Rangers' slide continues as they have lost seven of their last 11 games and have been outscored 13-4 in their past two contests.

  25.  Panthers 10-11-4

The Panthers won five of six and then turned around and lost four straight games. It is no wonder why they have not made the playoffs in nine years.

  26.  Ducks 10-11-4

The Ducks might be turning it around as they have won four of six games and collected points in five of their last six games.

  27.  Wild 10-12-3

The Wild has won three of four, including a sweep of the division rival Avalanche. Still not enough for respectability though.

  28.  Oilers 10-13-4

The Oilers have lost 11 of 14 games and looks like a team on a non-stop flight to no place.

  29.  Maple Leafs 6-11-7

The Leafs have won three of four games and posted points in five straight games, but it might be too little too late.

  30.  Hurricanes 5-16-5

The Hurricanes have lost four straight games and have 19 losses in their past 22 games.

The Blachawks are playing with confidence. With the signing of Kane, Toews, and Keith we have to win the Cup this year because a salary cap problem could force the management to cut some excellent talent. We need to win the Cup this year.

Its amazing how the Devils are still winning even though they have all those injuries like you mentioned but alot of that has to do with Martin Broduer that just tied the all time record for shutouts last night vs Buffalo. Who the Devils made look foolish.
