So I play in Lingerie..BUT IM STILL AN ATHLETE!!

If one more person questions my ability of an athlete imma scream!!  Yes we play in lingerie. Yes ironically (*wink wink*) there are a bunch of very pretty girls on the field and we are playing football.

 

But if one more person asks me if "this" is real i swear Imma tackle them!

 

No But seriously, my ability as an athlete was questioned last week because we play in lingerie. This struck a nerve. AFTER i explained, the basis of the game, some general info involving the league, someone still wanted to question my ability as an athlete because we play in lingerie. Stating "Youre just a model trying to play football"

 

So then I began to think about how nobody questioned me when I stepped on the track every weekend running collegiate track and field in LESS clothes than what the lingerie league wears! Or when I played beach volleyball over the summer in LESS clothes that what the league wears! Then i said "Sir, Imma ask you to do 2 things. 1. Buy tickets to The Chicago Bliss home game Dec 18th. 2. Put your money where your mouth is! If you dont see any hard hits, phenomenal plays, great catches or interceptions, Ill pay you back for those tickets you purchased. If you see some ACTION on that field you are donating $500 to my favorite charity. Deal? "

 

Ladies and gentlemen he said it was a deal! With that said. Im gaining some respect and Im working for my fav charity!

 

Other players that read this blog, lets command respect! Female athletes have to work harder in general! The fact that we are a new league and we wear lingerie leaves us with a lot of skeptics. Tell them to put their money up...then TAKE IT! Then gain a fan and your respect in the process!

Nobody ever accused us of playing in our underwear so therefore we weren't real athletes, but I can see where it would be said of a sport where the first word is "Lingerie". Of course, it helped that we usually worked so hard somebody would vomit during the competition. Maybe that's what you should do during pre-game. :) It might also help if you told them that the "Lingerie" tag was just there for "AIS" = "A_ _ In Seat". Once you get them to the game, the onus is on you to prove that it's a real sport.

Well said Nikki. Forget the haters and the doubters. Anyone who has seen a LFL game realises very quickly that the players are doing it for real. Its an exciting spectator sport and speaking as a fan I love it.
